Note: This is what is called a Fixed Cellular or Fixed Wireless Terminal. It is normally intended to be "fixed mounted" which means permanently mounted. That doesn't mean that it can't be moved between more than one vehicle. I have had inquries asking if it could work one moment on a yacht, and the next moment be mounted in a car or truck. Yes it can! and it can work on a dc voltage range 10-28vdc for those that are capable of such wiring. I've tested Ericsson W25 in a Dodge Ram
Pickup with no external antenna and held Internet Connection and voice
all around Broward County/Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and on a Trip down
to Ocean Reef - Key Largo, Florida (with one brief drop) on DC Power
from the truck. I had an analog desk/wall telephone and a Toshiba
Laptop using WiFi from the Ericsson W25 unit. I am putting another one
in a Pershing 88 (88 foot Motor Yacht) being refitted in Fort

The Ericsson W25 is an advanced small
office and home router (mobile/vehicle installable) with wireless WAN
access. The product is a combination of a high-speed modem, a gateway
and a wireless LAN (WLAN) access point. Additionally, the Ericsson W25
also includes voice capabilities over standard analog telephone
interfaces.
With WCDMA/HSDPA radio access capability the Ericsson W25 is well
suited to provide broadband data access with data speeds similar to
fixed line xDSL services. The basic data rate is up to 7.2 Mbps and the
peak up-link speed is 384 kbps.
Although they call it a "small office and home router" it is more
popular for use in Boating and Yachting (Marine)
as a "Cell Line" for an onboard PBX Telephone System, and "High Speed
Cellular Internet" for an onboard Wired and Wireless Computer Network.
It is also useful in Fixed and Remote Land-based applications to
provide telephone and Internet access, remote data collection (remote
meter monitoring), and other uses on land. It can replace or supplement
(be a backup system) for homes and small offices. This is called
Landline Replacement, as it can be used to replace landline service
altogether. More and more of us are using Cell Phones instead of
Landline Telephone Service. Some people are using only cellular hand
phones in their homes. This unit could be used to replace your landline
telephone service and provide you with Telephone to your standard phone
jacks and standard home telephone equipment (RJ-11) such as wall or
desk phones and cordless telephone sets, as well as small office PBX
System C.O. Central Office inputs. And the killer application is that
it can provide you high speed Internet as well. It has a network
hub-switch built-in, as well as having an 802.11b/g Wireless Access
point built-in. You couldn't do any better than that in a single small
compact unit. You could put this in your car or truck and provide your
vehicle with "Mobile Internet" and "Mobile Telephone" capability. This
can be a great thing for "Mobile Companies" workers and Business
persons that work on the road a lot. You could use Internet in a laptop
in the vehicle and probably quite some feet outside and around the
vehicle on the Built-in WiFi. Imagine the look on your friends or
associates faces when they see you sporting your own "Internet Hotspot"
in your vehicle! Or when they see you using Analog (RJ-11) Telephone
equipment in or around your vehicle. This is as versatile as the stuff

How does a Fixed Wireless
